MANILA — Naniniwala si Palace Press Officer Undersecretary Claire Castro na maaaring humarap si Vice President Sara Duterte sa mas mabibigat na kaso bukod sa grave threats kaugnay ng kanyang kontrobersiyal na pahayag laban kay Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr..
Ayon kay Castro, may nakikita siyang elemento ng inciting to sedition sa naging pahayag ng bise presidente.
“As I’ve said, that’s not enough. As a lawyer, if you will watch the video in full, its effect is there is this intention to sow hatred against the President, against the government,” ani Castro.
“So, it is not just a simple grave threats. Personally, my opinion… For me, there is this element of inciting to sedition,”dagdag ni Castro.
Noong Martes, nagsampa ang Department of Justice (DOJ) ng kasong grave threats laban kay Duterte sa ilalim ng Revised Penal Code kaugnay ng Cybercrime Prevention Act, na may piyansang P120,000.
Bagama’t ibinasura ng DOJ ang reklamong inciting to sedition dahil sa kakulangan ng ebidensiya, iginiit ni Castro na maaaring sabay na harapin ng bise presidente ang kasong kriminal at ang impeachment proceedings dahil magkaiba ang layunin at proseso ng dalawang usapin.
Nauna namang sinabi ni Duterte na mali ang interpretasyon sa kanyang pahayag at ito umano ay inalis sa tamang konteksto. Aniya, hindi ito banta kundi paglalarawan lamang sa umano’y banta sa kanyang sariling seguridad. #RPB
